Come with me again on another painting discovery! This should look familiar by now. Below is a large stretched canvas, painted white and waiting ......
These are the colors I chose: black, white, nutmeg, gray, lavender and red. Let's see what comes from that odd selection!
I began with large areas of the neutral colors ....
Then I added the red. No particular plan in place, just moving the colors around...and using some of my tools.
Again, I reached that point where the entire piece was not making me happy. It seemed too dark, messy, no focus, no point that excited me when I looked at it.
Out came the small roller and the white paint. I painted over most of the canvas, leaving two places that had interest to me .....
Then, I went back in and softened the white with colors....
Suddenly it came together! I can look at it, and see many places that are interesting ....and it makes me happy. I present:
