"HAROLD" ...

An exercise in creating a face with character. It is 11 X 14 stretched canvas; acrylic and oil pastel.

Thanks! I LOVE painting faces......but have no desire to do portraits. I would not be good at that! I do think they (portrait painters) are very good technicians though. (grin).

But I have to ask: Are the "dots" a result of the photography, or intentional?

I started with a photograph for the basic form. The final piece bears no resemblence. My goal is not to do portraiture.....but to create.
