BOOK RELEASES ACROSS THE COUNTRY - ADVENTURE 2008 PAGE 2

During the past four weeks I was able to release 19 books into the wild. I left several of them in restrooms and one in a telephone booth; one on a church pew outside a restaurant and one on top of the air hose box at a gas station. I left them in hotel lobbies ( on planters and on chairs) and in booth locations in restaurants. I left one in a coffee house and one in a kitchen of a VFW picnic park area.
Here are 2 covert photos of book release locations. What a fun hobby this is!

Presumably you did not turn loose anything that would bite the hand that turned the page... tempting as that might be at times. Do blog any follow-ups.

This is such a cool idea. I just joined up with BookCrossing, and my husband and I have already selected some books for the first "release party". We'll send them on their way next week.

Oh that is wonderful! If you have the time, sometimes it is kinda cool to "hide around the corner" to see what happens when someone actually picks up the book. If you leave it in a high traffic area it should happen almost immediately. Be warned, however, that not everyone loves books as we do. Be prepared for that person to turn around and throw it in a trash can. Don't take it personally.

Jude,

Just perused your blog after reading TheArtJournal digest. This entry about your book releases reminded me of a quote I love by Virginia Woolf. I did a journal page of it here:

Loved your blog and your book release idea!
