THE BIG REVEAL....
....of the Erosion Bundle Project of 2010. On January 1, 2010 the items you see here were wrapped up in burlap and placed out in the elements for 3 1/2 months. Known as the Erosion Bundle Project of 2010, the premise of the project was to observe an artist's collaboration with nature, to see the effects of this partnership on selected items.
This photograph shows the "bundle" on April 15, 2010, remarkable in its good condition after so long outside in the winter of much snow and rain and cold.
The model on this vintage VOGUE magazine cover does show wear and something that looks like mold. Additionally a small spider did crawl out as I unwrapped the layers.

Amazing how well it held up. Do you have to use the spider in the artwork? ... maybe you could honor the little fella with an 'essence' of him -- a hidden spidery line somewhere, or discrete web. (Oooo, maybe your theme is in there somewhere.) Anxiously waiting to see what you do with it anyway.
Hey :)
looks like you got some good results from your erosion bundle. I love the magazine cover looks....that face with the stains and patterns on it is very cool looking. I look forward to seeing what you do creatively with this!
Wonderful fabric! lucky you! I am sure you will have fun with the next stage:)
BEAUUUUUUUTIIIIFFFUUUUULLLL!!! lol That was me singing... in case you couldn't tell. I love your reveal!
I love the rusty bit Jude
Thanks all of you for stopping by to look at the results! Now, I am off to look at the other reveals. This was a fun project!
Great rust results! Looking forward to seeing what you make!
Exciting :)
Can't wait to see what emmerges.
Oh I'm rather envious of your lovely rust!
Chrissie, if you wold like to "make" some rusted fabric it is easy and quick. Find some already rusty nails and pieces of old metal (like very old cans etc). Wrap the fabric around all these pieces and spray it all with vinegar. Place outside in the sun and occasionally spray more vinegar on it all. After a few days you will have wonderful rusted fabric!
Your bundle looks wonderful, great result, I love fabric with rust.

The staining on all of your materials will provide lots of inspiration I am sure. Thanks so much for your comments. Your triptych dance series is beautiful!
Corrine
Thanks Corrine! The Women Who Dance series was my first try at paper collage. I rather like it myself!
