Remember that open space above the front gate? It is now serving it's full purpose. We have waited a long time for the perfect bell to show up and now I feel like I am living in a very old Spanish mission. The bell ring sound is wonderful and the pull rope ends in a very old piece of chain that we found on the land. The bell is old, and rusty and has a wonderful patina.

What a wonderful finishing touch! It looks as though your stucco color has changed (compared to your blog header). Is it an actual color change, or just a trick of light/time of day?
HI Sue! I was JUST thinking about you. The blog header photo is closer to what the color really is. The two most recent photos were taken in very bright sunlight and I also play around with them in Photoshop. Additionally, the light here is kinda magical; it does what it does.
