THE FIRST REAL DAY OF OUR FIRST WINTER IN PENNSYLVANIA,,,

The bird feeders are covered with snow. That one on the right is a suet feeder that the woodpeckers really like!
The trees lost a lot of leaves the past two days and the snow sits like soft lace on every branch. Just yesterday Roy planted this red bush. They are all over the area here and when the sun hits them they just glow. I think they are called Burning Bush. I hope to plant more of them next year.
Tomorrow we are hosting the First Annual October Family Fest. So, this is a perfect day for me to do a lot of cooking for the event. I will post photos, event activities and the menu after the fact (starting with a 22.2 pound turkey!)

Humm where did you get the turkey? Your snow event looks inviting. It is 94 here today. Maybe a record. We did get much needed rain this week. Have a wonderful fall celebration. hugs d
