THE DUCKS, THE FISH AND THE SEA GULLS...

Yesterday while out photographing the trees we ended up at Pymatuning State Park. It is located just west of us and actually goes across the state line into Ohio. The ducks are plentiful and compete with the huge fish for bread tossed out into the water. Add to this a large flock of sea gulls and you have an exciting flurry of creatures competing for crumbs! You can just barely see a big fish in the lower center of this photograph. It was a little chilly but still beautiful! (See, those jeans went out for the day)I am still amazed to see gulls here!

As the chief driver and trip planner and all around make it happen guy, I have to tell you that the photos do not really do the fall colors justice. Driving through all the trees in NW Pa. is an experience in itself. And the big fish... well, let me just say that they (yes they) are HUGE catfish, about 30" long with large gaping mouth and trailing "whiskers" waiting for some bread crumbs to gulp down. Wish you could have seen them in person.

Hey, Roy! They're carp, big black goldfish (koi in Japan), and they ARE HUGE! I don't think there's a similar spectacle anywhere in the world. It's know as 'The Place Where the Ducks Walk on the Fish's Backs'. I'm really glad you got to see it.

I stand corrected. They are indeed Koi (carp to you land lubbers). Didnt think that I would get taken to task over the type but you never know. Thanks for the kind correction. Anyway, they ARE HUGE!
